What is the best season for kitesurfing in Kalpitiya?
We have two main wind seasons: the Summer season from May to October (20-30 knots daily) and the Winter season from December to March (15-20 knots afternoon wind).
Do I need to know how to swim?
Basic swimming comfort is helpful, but since Kalpitiya lagoon is very shallow (waist-deep flat water) and you will always wear a life jacket, it is completely safe for non-swimmers too.
Can I just visit the restaurant without taking lessons?
Yes, absolutely! Our beachfront restaurant and bar are open to everyone. You can relax, enjoy fresh seafood, and watch the kitesurfing action on the lagoon.
